Jammed Garbage Disposal

2. Look for the reset button on your disposal. Pressing this button may help to clear the jam.

 

3. Use a flashlight to look into the disposal to locate the jam. Never put your hand down the disposal while it is still plugged in.

 

4. Use tongs or pliers to carefully remove any debris causing the jam. Remember to turn off the garbage disposal before attempting to remove anything.

 

5. Once the jam is removed, turn the garbage disposal back on to test if it is working properly.
